With mysteries cropping up throughout the town, Spaulding navigates through a web of predicaments in a fantastic portrayal of spookiness and comedy.

It’s my first necromancy read. I like the main character, Spaulding, especially the notebook he keeps with him. I like Spaulding’s relationships with his great aunt Gwen, though I do feel bad for his many lonely dinners/5(28).

Just going through some files on my computer that I haven’t looked at in a while and came across an illustration for my (currently unpublished) middle grade novel The Haunted Serpent that I’d forgotten all about!That book has SO many illustrations (80 or something crazy like that I forget/have blocked out exactly how many) that I was practically in a coma by the time I finished up.

The Haunted Serpent is very well written. I love the humor. This book has many actions and adventures and they sure give me an adrenaline rush. Spaulding’s school experiences can be relatable to many readers, especially his attempts at making friends.
